Many singers fear that they need to control their breath by taking in large amounts of air and holding it for as long as possible, to nail a 4-bar phrase, a high note, or the final note. However, the truth is more complex than one might expect. We have to trust the process, despite counterintuitive thoughts and responses wanting to push their way in. More in the video!
EVENT! July 5-6: Voice-works Vocal Focus, Forward Motion Study Weekend.
As the Voice-works year concludes, the July Study Weekend offers participating singers the chance to pause, take stock, and plan ahead. Application for singers is now closed, but I would love to welcome observers to the event. Observing vocal classes isn’t simply about watching others at work. It’s a process of deep learning. There is something profound about witnessing another singer's journey in real-time. Observers are welcome to apply right up to 21st June. Just click the image for all the details.

2. The Singer’s Journey is a reflective, hands-on Masterclass Day for participants to deepen their repertoire work and reconnect with their artistic purpose. Framed by the loose theme Past, Present & Future, the workshop blends practical technique, creative exploration, grounded in the principle of learning by doing..
