Jamboree!

A Revelry for Singers.

You are invited! Join us! Pastime with good company on 20th July ...

"And pomp, and feast, and revelry,
With mask, and antique pageantry,
Such sights as youthful poets dream
On summer eves by haunted stream." ~ John Milton

Join me for a day of celebration and merriment sharing songs, tips and tools of our beloved vocal trade ... Jamboree style!

"Frame your mind to mirth and merriment which bars a thousand harms and lengthens life."

William Shakespeare

I am inviting you to share in a Jamboree - a party, a lively celebration, or shindig, where there is excitement, fun, and enjoyment. Fancy dress, optional!

New to singing? This day will easily adapt to curious newcomers. It will provide great insight into our world of singing - you'll be very well taken care of!

Full fun 'how' details will be revealed once you have taken the plunge and opted to join me. As with most party/celebration invitations, you never know quite what party games there may be ...

Are you ready to Revel? Let's see ...

  • You'll be ready to share a max of six songs, (most - but not all) will be pre-recorded in MP4 format to ease the stress on the day)
  • You'll come prepared, ready to share tips (or ask questions), tricks and experiences relevant to a selection of subjects such as vocal technique a-ha moments,  musicianship, well-being and general recommendations for the use of tech, websites & apps etc
  • There will be Jamboree Jars to increase the element of surprise
  • There may even be a QUIZ!

Our day of merriment will include:

  • once everyone is assembled, either virtually or actually, we'll begin with a light but useful vocal technique session (for both online and in-person revellers)
  • we'll enjoy 2 scheduled LIVE broadcasts featuring your chosen pre-recorded songs with post-performance chats and accolades a-plenty
  • pauses for healthy delicious eats and drinks
  • 2 x Jamboree Jar moments & ensuing excitement
  • Impromptu singing
  • A sharing of vocal dreams and aspirations.

RSVP below to opt in by the close of day 13 July 2024

Numbers will be limited to 6 participating singers. I like to keep these workshops small, to give everyone ample opportunity to sing and a sense of security, but this time, with an online option perhaps we may be able to boost the number of observers ...

Those attending in person: I encourage you to bring a nutritious, well-being-themed packed lunch. Refreshments and other goodies will be supplied.

Doors (actual and virtual) will be open from 10am on the day.

Last Saturday I participated in the Jamboree. If anyone has hesitated in taking part, in any of Gillian’s online workshops, be assured that you will not feel left out!
I was so happy with the flexible programme, that allowed me some insight into my singing. I was not looking at technique, I was more concerned with my attitude to my singing, and why I am sometimes surprised by the positive reaction of others, to my singing. These reactions are often so different to my own! The day was very enjoyable and gave me insight into how I regard my own singing! I can’t wait until the next event.

The Jamboree 'A revelry for singers' day was a brilliant opportunity to celebrate recent milestones and, thanks for Gillian's feedback, also to take stock of what needs most TLC in my approach to singing and interpreting songs and arias. We had several very stimulating discussions on specific singing and wellbeing topics. The whole day has set me on a course to plan out my study and practice for the next 6 months with fresh inspiration and boosted creativity, as opposed to continuing working on repertoire in a humdrum way!
