Join us in supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital this Christmas

Great Ormond Street Hospital and raising money for similar children's charities has a particular significance to our ensemble; also, one of our guest singers was a nurse there at the beginning of her career and has very fond memories of caring for the children.  We are particularly pleased to support GOSH.

Our Project

To create a virtual programme of wonderful music, the culmination of online collaboration, steady work and endeavour towards an end goal, to raise money for a good cause - but having fun and enjoyment in the virtual challenge, AND the community and sharing of the journey.

Our Journey

The final week of prep for the virtual pre-recorded festive concert continues! Separate track recordings arrive into a shared Dropbox folder to action and - as with a LIVE, actual performance, there is a feeling of excitement … mixed in with quite a lot of nervous energy too. No one likes a deadline, least of all me.

Our Experience

“It’s my richest experience in a long time in terms of learning on the spot and making do, using bits of knowledge on recording vocals. There is a very exciting learning curve about negotiating the physical demands of classical singing and the sound accuracy requirements of recording tracks.”

Our motivation

Our motivation in fundraising for children's charities goes back more than twenty-five years when the leader of the Camaraderie Ensemble Collective professional soprano Gillian Wormley and voice teacher directed a larger vocal group, 'Class Apart'. Tap the image to find out more.

Your Invitation

The premiere of our recorded concert in support of the charity was first streamed on YouTube, on Thursday 16th December 2021. It is now on general release until the end of December.

We invite you to make a donation to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSH) and see what you missed! We thoroughly enjoyed the experience, working as a team to produce the end result.

Help us support GOSH

We have collectively had many years of making music, but somehow it doesn’t feel like that. It feels as fresh as it did in the beginning - and so relevant to how we all feel about the work that we are doing now.
